The Inside Scoop

Happy spring everyone! We’re busy getting our trails ready for summer–volunteers are out cutting up blowdowns and leaf blowing, and staff are getting some new hiking trails ready. We’ve just opened a new hiking trail on a piece of property that will (hopefully!) be the newest addition to the Bethel Community Forest. This is located off the North Road, just past Ellingwood Mt. Road. Look for Community Forest signs; maps are located near the parking lot. The other Community Forest hiking trails (Summit Ridge and Cascades) are now open, and the parking lot on Locke Mt. Road is clear.
All other trails will remain closed until they dry out. This includes: Bethel Village Trails, Bacon Hill, Tribute in the Community Forest, and PACT in Rumford. Feel free to give us a call Monday-Friday with any questions at 207.200.8240. We will post here as trails open up. Thank you for your patience!
