The Inside Scoop

Good morning! Trail updates: Bacon Hill is now open; there is still a wet section between the Playground and Big Bacon–please ride through any muddy sections, not around. Bethel Village Trails (all trails plus doubletrack trails I95 and Grovers Grind), Bethel Community Forest (Tribute, Parietal, logging roads), and the PACT trails in Rumford, behind Mt. Valley High School are all open. (Maxilla, a new enduro trail off Parietal in the Community Forest, is still under construction and therefore closed.)
Trails that are open for hiking: We’ve just opened a new hiking trail on a piece of property that will (hopefully!) be the newest addition to the Bethel Community Forest. This is located off the North Road, just past Ellingwood Mt. Road. Look for Community Forest signs; maps are located near the parking lot. The other Community Forest hiking trails (Summit Ridge and Cascades) are now open, and the parking lot on Locke Mt. Road is clear.
Not sure where to start? We highly recommend setting up a guided tour with Bethel Adventure Tours. Alex knows all the good spots for riding, hiking and paddling, so give him a call!
